Why In-Home Brace Fitting Works Better
Braces only work well when the fit and adjustments are right. In-home fitting means your brace is set up for real life—stairs, driving, sitting, walking, and day-to-day movement.
- Accurate measurement and sizing
- Strap and alignment adjustments for comfort
- Guidance on how tight it should feel
- Practical fitting for your lifestyle and environment
- Follow-up tweaks if something feels off after real use
Custom vs Off-the-Shelf Bracing
Custom Bracing
Custom options can be ideal when you need a more precise fit, greater support, or a brace tailored to alignment and movement.
Off-the-Shelf Bracing & Compression
Off-the-shelf braces and compression supports can be a great fit for mild to moderate needs, faster turnaround, and everyday comfort.
If you’re not sure what you need, that’s normal—our consult is designed to make the decision simple.
Our In-Home Bracing Process
1) Quick Intake & Goals
We start by understanding what you want to do more comfortably—walking, stairs, returning to activity, reducing flare-ups, improving stability, and confidence.
2) Assessment & Measurement
We assess movement, take key measurements, and determine what category of support makes the most sense.
3) Brace Selection
We recommend the most appropriate option—custom vs off-the-shelf—based on comfort, stability needs, and your activity level.
4) Fit & Adjust
We fit the brace and adjust it for comfort and stability, then confirm it works for your day-to-day movement.
5) Guidance & Follow-Up
We’ll show you how to put it on properly, how tight it should feel, and when to wear it. If anything needs fine tuning after real-world use, we can help you dial it in..

FAQs
Here you'll find answers to our most common questions regarding in-home brace fittings for the Greater Vancouver Area.
Do I need a referral to book an in-home brace fitting?
Book nowA doctor’s note or referral is preferred, and some insurance plans may require it for the brace to be claimable or reimbursed. If you don’t have one yet, you can still start by booking a consultation.
How long does a fitting appointment take?
Book NowMost in-home fittings include time for intake, measurement, fitting, and adjustments. The exact time depends on the type of brace and whether follow-up adjustments are needed after real-world use. But typically we block 45 mins for assessment and 20 mins for fitting.
What should I wear to the fitting?
Book NowComfortable clothing that allows access to the area being fitted. For knee bracing, shorts are ideal. For hip bracing, comfortable shorts or loose clothing works well. If you’re unsure, just wear something easy to move in.
What if the brace feels uncomfortable after a few days?
Book NowThat’s common early on—small adjustments can make a big difference. If something rubs, feels too tight, or doesn’t feel stable, contact us and we’ll help troubleshoot fit and strap adjustments.
Can you fit braces in condos or smaller spaces?
Book NowYes. In-home fittings work well in condos and homes. If there are parking or entry instructions, share them when you book so everything runs smoothly.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Book NowAvailability depends on the week, but we aim to make booking simple and fast. For the quickest response, call or text us directly.
Do you do both knee and hip bracing?
Book NowYes. We offer in-home fitting for both knee and hip bracing, including osteoarthritis-focused support and stability options. We also provide options for compressive bracing if that's all you require.
What’s the difference between an unloader brace, a hinged brace, and a compression sleeve?
Book Now- Unloader braces are designed to provide targeted support when osteoarthritis-related loading is a key factor.
- Hinged/stability braces are designed to provide more mechanical stability and control during movement.
- Compression sleeves are typically lighter, lower profile, and focused on comfort, compression, and warmth.
- Unloader braces are designed to provide targeted support when osteoarthritis-related loading is a key factor.
Do you offer follow-up adjustments?
Book NowIf you need small fit tweaks after wearing the brace in real life, we can help. The goal is comfort and function, and continued comfort over the lifetime of the brace.
